Fort Pierce Central High School recently celebrated a momentous occasion with the induction of its National Honor Society (NHS) officers for the 2025-2026 school year. The ceremony, held in the school’s auditorium, was a testament to the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character that the NHS upholds.

The event began with a warm welcome from NHS’ sponsor Mrs. Kelly Wiggett who emphasized the importance of the NHS in fostering academic excellence and community service. Mrs. Wiggett announced the inducted officers with a brief recount of their achievements and qualifications to support NHS in the school and community.

As new officers joined the 24-25 officers on stage, each lit a candle representing a pillar within NHS. The 24-25 officers placed their purple jackets on the new officers as symbol of transference as they pledged to uphold the values of the NHS and lead by example, inspiring their peers to strive for excellence.

During the induction ceremony, the newly on-boarded co-sponsor Mrs. Katie Avra shared her insights on the impact of leadership and service from her high school experience as a NHS officer that will continue to shape future opportunities at FPC.

This induction ceremony not only marked the beginning of a new chapter for the NHS officers but also reinforced the spirit of “Cobra Pride” that defines Fort Pierce Central High School. The school community looks forward to the positive impact these young leaders will have in the coming year.
