Fort Pierce Central High School ushered in the winter‑season of school spirit with Stranger Things themed dress up days and a capstone of the lively campus bonfire. The event energized staff, students, and families as they gathered near the fire’s glow on a cold January evening at Cobra Nation.
With staff in place at 5:30, student began making their way to the bonfire area at 6pm. Mr. Bradley, master of ceremonies and fire master along with Chef Strell, and the St. Lucie County Fire Dept. lit the fire at 7pm. Then, at 8pm, a special tribute featured SGA President Isabella Ramos-Cordero and the Might Cobra Mascot. The tribute included lifting the Burn Box into the flames. The Burn Box was filled with personal notes written all week by students surrendering their stress and unburdening themselves through the symbolic release.
Administrators and student leaders highlighted the importance of these gatherings in building campus morale, especially during a busy academic season. With food managed by clubs and PBIS, music, cheering, and a vibrant turnout, the bonfire helped set the tone for the weeks ahead as Fort Pierce Central students prepared for more winter events, performances, and senior athletic milestones. The bonfire’s warm glow became a backdrop for community bonding, school pride, and celebration of Cobra culture — a fitting representation of the school’s motto, “Once a Cobra, Always a Cobra.”
