On Friday, April 17th, the Psychology Club and Red Cross, led by Mrs. Homan, partnered to transform the courtyard at both A and B lunches into a full‑campus De‑Stress Event designed to help students unwind, reset, and reconnect nearing the end of busy spring semester. The courtyard became a hub of creativity, sensory experiences, and light‑hearted fun as multiple student organizations joined forces to offer hands‑on activities and wellness‑focused stations.

The National Art Honor Society kicked off the afternoon with a glitter tattoos and face‑painting booth that quickly became one of the most popular stops. Students lined up for everything from tiny cheek designs to full‑color creations, adding a splash of brightness to the day.
Nearby, the Psychology Club curated a sensory and aromatherapy tent, inviting students to explore calming textures, soothing scents, and grounding techniques. The soft mid-day glow within the tent created a peaceful pocket on campus where students could take a breath and decompress.

The school social worker and district psychology team added a playful twist with The Psychology of Breathing with Bubbles. As students received small bubble blowers, staff explained how simple repetitive actions—like blowing bubbles—can regulate breathing, reduce stress, and interrupt anxious thought cycles. The bubbles drifting across the courtyard became a visual reminder of how small tools can make a big difference.

The Entomology Club brought a creative STEM angle to the event, guiding students in making beaded dragonfly charms while sharing fun insect facts. Their segment also extended to the airwaves: lighthearted music and quick wellness tips were broadcast during lunch, adding a cheerful soundtrack to the afternoon.

Together, these stations created a welcoming, student‑centered environment that blended art, science, psychology, and community care. The De‑Stress Event highlighted the power of collaboration across clubs and departments—and offered students a meaningful reminder to pause, breathe, and take care of themselves.
