The Career and Technical Education (CTE) department has been taking its advisory board meetings to the next level. The advisory board members include Educators from the CTE programs, business partners and post-secondary institutions (Indian River State College and Keiser University). The various groups discussed pivoting to the virtual arena for meetings as well as volunteering during the Covid19 pandemic. Level up, CTE!
Early Childhood Education: St. Lucie West Centennial High Early Childhood Education teachers met with local partners including Discovery Emporium, Sunlight Christian Academy and Boys and Girls Club St Lucie County.
Industrial Biotechnology & Biomedical Science: Port St. Lucie High School Biomedical Science and Treasure Coast High School Industrial Biotechnology Educators met with industry partners including the Smithsonian Marine Station.
Criminal Justice: Fort Pierce Central High School, Fort Pierce Westwood Academy, St. Lucie West Centennial High School and Treasure Coast High School’s Criminal Justice educators met with business and industry partners including the Federal Public Defender’s Office, St. Lucie County Human Resources, St. Lucie County Emergency Operations Center, and The Law Firm of Gary, Williams, Parenti, Watson & Gary, PLLC.
Commercial Arts and International Business: Treasure Coast High School (International Business) and Fort Pierce Westwood Academy (Commercial Arts) collaborated with partners.
Medical: Medical Program educators from Fort Pierce Central High School, Fort Pierce Westwood Academy, Port St. Lucie High School, St. Lucie West Centennial High School, and Treasure Coast High School met with industry partners from Legacy Private Care and Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.
