Ms. Alyssa Barbieri’s fifth grade students enjoy implementing the Three-Read strategy for math word problems that Math Coach Erin Albano introduced to them. Ms. Alyssa Barbieri furnished her 5th grade math students with a diner menu and $20. They practiced adding and subtracting to the hundredths place by selecting three items within their $20 budget – calculating both the cost of the items and the change they would receive back. Whether they chose the most expensive items or elected to spend the least amount possible, they had lots of fun while practicing their math skills!
