St. Lucie Public Schools Celebrates 2019-2020 Volunteer of the Year Winners

Youth Volunteer – Alexis Wilson – Port St. Lucie High School Alexis enjoys giving back to people in the form of volunteering.  She accumulated approximately 131 community service hours within her high school JROTC program. Her volunteer activities include parking details at football games, providing daycare services, and assisting at the Botanical Gardens.  She also helps at Southport Middle with school events.  Furthermore, she has been volunteering at her church since she was 12 years old. St. Lucie Public Schools will continue Distance Learning until the school year ends on June 2nd. The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. St. Lucie Public Schools to Recognize Class of 2020 with Virtual Graduations

St. Lucie Public Schools will celebrate the Class of 2020 with virtual graduations in May, but is committed to holding live graduations at an outdoor site in late June if it is safe to do so based on guidance from the Florida Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Northport K8 Wins Sprint’s Going Back 2 School Contest

Northport received the most votes from Sprint in-store visitors who voted for their favorite school through Sprint’s Back 2 School Contest.  The contest covered the northern part of Florida including St. Lucie County.  Sprint presented Northport K8 with a $5000 check! Thank you Sprint for supporting schools! Way to go Northport!    

“Disability Employment Awareness Month” Proclamation

Students from Port St. Lucie High School and St. Lucie West Centennial High School were joined by their principals and District Student Services Personnel to read a resolution proclaiming the month of October as “Disability Employment Awareness Month” in St. Lucie County.   The proclamation was read at the October Board of County Commissioners Meeting.

PBPA Hosts Community Connection Luncheon

Community members attended PBPA’s first Community Connection Luncheon on Oct. 8th.  Students were able to hear success stories and interact with different community members. They were also able to learn about some interests that our community members have and how those interests helped them experience success in their careers.
