Oak Hammock K-8 brought together books, pizza, and plenty of Osprey spirit during its Read to Succeed Night at Big Apple Pizza.
The family literacy event gave students and families an opportunity to spend time reading together while enjoying a fun evening in the community. The message for the night was simple: READ, EAT, and take home BOOKS!
Students were encouraged to read during the event, enjoy dinner with their families, and build their home libraries by selecting books to take home. By putting books directly into students’ hands, Read to Succeed Night helped extend the joy of reading beyond the classroom and into students’ homes.
The evening was also an opportunity for families to support Oak Hammock K-8 while sharing a meal together. Fifty percent of the event proceeds were donated back to Oak Hammock, making every pizza order another way to invest in the school and its students.
Read to Succeed Night reflected Oak Hammock K-8’s commitment to making literacy engaging, accessible, and connected to the entire school community. Events like this show students that reading can happen anywhere, whether they are in a classroom, at home, or sharing a slice of pizza with family and friends.
Most importantly, the evening celebrated the power of strong schools, engaged families, and community partnerships working together to create brighter futures for students.
At Oak Hammock K-8, the message continues to be clear: Ospreys Read. Ospreys Lead. Ospreys Succeed!
