SLPS Seniors Go To UCF

In October, the Office of Teaching and Learning (Secondary Programs) brought approximately 40 seniors to visit the University of Central Florida.  The 40 students represented all of our comprehensive high schools.  College tours help students see beyond the brochure. They give them an opportunity to experience campus life, explore academic programs, ask questions, and decide whether they can truly picture themselves attending that school. Most importantly, a tour can turn college from an idea into a goal that feels real and achievable.

This academically driven group of seniors had the opportunity to receive a 90-minute walking tour of the campus. They also received a 20-minute Q&A session with Admissions as well as ate lunch in a student dining hall, and topped it off with some browsing in the bookstore.

Thank you to the St. Lucie Education Foundation for providing the opportunity for each student to eat lunch on campus.
