Manatee Academy K-8 Students Power Up Learning

This week, Manatee Academy K-8 students in kindergarten through fifth grade enjoyed an exciting and educational presentation from the NCT/FPL Captain Wattage Show. Through interactive demonstrations, engaging activities, and plenty of fun, students learned valuable lessons about energy conservation and how their everyday choices can help protect our environment.

Captain Wattage encouraged students to become “Energy Heroes” by practicing simple energy-saving habits such as turning off lights when leaving a room, unplugging devices when not in use, and using resources responsibly. These small actions can make a big impact on conserving energy and supporting a more sustainable future.

The presentation aligned with our school’s commitment to developing responsible citizens and critical thinkers who understand the importance of caring for the world around them. As part of our “Manatees Make Waves” philosophy, students learned that just like a single wave can create a ripple effect, one person’s actions can inspire positive change throughout a community.

We are grateful to NCT and FPL for providing this memorable learning opportunity and helping our students discover how they can make waves by becoming good stewards of energy and the environment.
