Excitement filled the air as Oak Hammock K-8 celebrated its first House Day competition of the year! Students and staff came together to represent their Houses, demonstrate teamwork, and build school spirit through a fun and engaging challenge.
The competition featured grade-level divisions including K-2, 3-5, and individual contests for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Each House selected six student representatives along with one staff member to compete on behalf of their team.
Participants took part in a fast-paced challenge that required skill, strategy, and perseverance. Competitors attempted to roll a ball into a series of hula hoops placed across the playing area. When a shot was successful, the House earned and collected that hula hoop. If the ball missed the target, the next teammate stepped up to continue the challenge. The excitement grew as teams worked together to gather every hoop as quickly as possible.
Throughout the event, students cheered enthusiastically for their Houses, encouraging their teammates and celebrating every successful shot. The competition showcased more than just friendly rivalry. It highlighted collaboration, sportsmanship, perseverance, and the strong sense of belonging that our House System promotes.
Our first House Day was a tremendous success and a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to connect, support one another, and build community across grade levels. We look forward to many more House competitions throughout the year as our Ospreys continue soaring to excellence together!
