Thanks to a generous STEM grant from the Education Foundation of St. Lucie, students at White City Elementary are diving into the fascinating world of light and shadow in art! These budding scientists are exploring how light travels and interacts with various materials, uncovering the secrets behind shadow movements and lengths influenced by light angles and the time of day. Equipped with cutting-edge technology like LED lights, cameras, and light boards, students are manipulating and documenting light phenomena in exciting ways. Their scientific adventures are inspiring them to create original artworks that beautifully blend art and science. WCE’s Teacher of the Year, Art Teacher, Mr. Tobin, guided students through this fantastic new experience.
