The Leadership Team of Ft. Pierce Central recently completed several site visits to the Culinary Department and was impressed by the high level of instruction and student involvement observed. Under the direction of Chef Strell and Chef Swertfager, the department demonstrated strong organization, clear expectations, and effective teaching practices. Students were actively engaged in their work and showed responsibility, focus, and pride in their learning.

Throughout the visits, it was evident that the Culinary Department places a strong emphasis on effort, discipline, and teamwork. Faculty members created an environment that supports student growth and career readiness. Freshman students were given a realistic view of the skills, work ethic, and commitment required to succeed in the culinary field. These experiences provided valuable insight into potential career pathways while reinforcing the importance of perseverance and practice. The Culinary Department continues to play an essential role in preparing students for future academic and career success.
