First-grade students at Allapattah Flats K-8 have been joyfully exploring Hispanic Heritage Month! Their excitement was evident as they learned about the rich cultures and traditions of Hispanic countries. To celebrate, students collaborated with their families to create beautiful flags representing their heritage, proudly showcasing their roots. A special highlight of the celebration was a visit from Mrs. Gonzalez and her eighth-grade Spanish students, who read the bilingual story I Love Saturdays y Domingos. After the reading, they led a fun and engaging comprehension activity that helped deepen the first graders’ understanding. It was a meaningful and festive way to honor Hispanic Heritage Month!
