SLC 2025 High School Juried Art Exhibition

The St. Lucie County High School Juried Art Show is an annual celebration of young artistic talent, showcasing the creativity and skill of students from across the county. This year, FPC hosted the exhibition with the reception taking place on May 16th from 4-6 pm on the second floor of the district office. Viewing will continue during the work week until May 23rd. Special thanks to Emily Royo-Yeno, Jaela Davis, and Amy Montabana for your never-ending effort and support in making this event a success for our students!

Art enthusiasts were treated to the vocal talents of Fort Pierce Central’s tremendous choir, accompanied by Vocal Music Director Mr. Harris. From solos to group selections, the ambiance of evening was beautifully staged with every note sang. Thank you to all the performers, especially seniors, for sharing your talents that elevated the evening!
Visual Art teachers from St. Lucie West Centennial, Lincoln Park Academy, Port St. Lucie High School, Treasure Coast High School, Fort Pierce Westwood Academy, Somerset College Prep, Tradition Prep High School, and Fort Pierce Central each selected 5 student artworks to be featured. The work represented a diverse range of styles, media, composition, application of the elements of art, and execution of the principles of design. Excitingly, the work reflected the unique perspectives and artistic growth of our students.
Teachers also showcased their work (below) including paintings from Jennifer Douglas, Emily Royo-Yeno, Warren Gerbert, Maricel Ruiz, ceramics from David Graham, and a tea pot plus crocheted shawl from Katie Avra.
The juried competition provided students with an opportunity to have their work evaluated by professionals and a retiree from a range of artistic backgrounds and related fields, offering valuable feedback and recognition for their efforts. The event not only celebrated artistic achievement but also fostered a sense of community among young artists, families, and educators.
First, second, and third place ribbon winners were awarded gift bags of art materials supplied by FPC’s National Art Honor Society (NAHS). As well, first place winners received a canvas tote bag personally painted by FPC NAHS members with their prizes. Best in Show, including 4 honorable mentions, and People’s Choice prizes were awarded. Thanks to FPC’s SAC for sponsoring the refreshments.
