The DECA Sports and Entertainment Marketing Conference was crucial for DECA, the Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) of the Marketing program at PSLHS, as it provided invaluable exposure to real-world marketing practices and connections with industry leaders. Participants from PSLHS, including DECA advisors Mrs. Shepherd and Mrs. Wegner, along with PSLHS DECA President Karina Arocho, Vice President Philomena Leal, and Treasurer Kaydence Digirolamo, enhanced their understanding of the marketing field through interactive presentations and networking opportunities with speakers such as Gary Mata, Director of Season and Plan Sales at the Orlando Magic, and Jennifer Avery, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Insights at Universal Destinations and Experiences. This experience fostered professional development, strengthened their competitive edge in DECA’s marketing events, and prepared them for future careers in sports and entertainment marketing, benefiting both their personal growth and the reputation of the PSLHS Marketing program.
