John Cesar, a Community Engagement Coordinator for the Children’s Services Council, joins Sean Boyle and Ashley Mock on this month’s episode of Community Connections. Mr. Cesar talks about who he was and what got him into doing what he does now. He explains about his father program that helps bring fathers into a fun environment. This fatherhood outreach program is called “MORE THAN A GAME.” It is held on Tuesday at 5pm -9pm and it starts March 12th through May 21st. This program requires just 1 hour of their time to learn tips and ways to improve their parenting and their own mental health. Mr. Cesar explains the registration for father figures around the age of 18 years old and older. “Any man can be a father figure.” Registration is on their website at CSCSLC.org. They currently have a basketball and golf night for the fathers and will try to expand on bowling in the fall. He talks about how happy he is when he sees fathers bring their friends to also join this helpful program.
