FPC Volunteers at the Oxbow Eco Center

On a brisk Saturday December morning, the Fort Pierce Central High School National Honor Society (NHS) & FPC Gardening Club teamed up to support a natural gem! The Oxbow Eco Center is St. Lucie County’s sanctuary for outdoor enthusiasts, families, and pet walks on the trails. From archery classes to science lessons and nature-based art-making, the Oxbow is a true treasure.

Teen volunteers from both clubs cleared weeds, debris, and resurfaced walking trails with pine needle beds. Students also worked on preparing seedlings for future planting. Club sponsors Mr. Peter Miserocchi (of NHS) and Mrs. Katie Avra (of Gardening Club) were proud of the hard work and community investment from all the volunteer Cobras.
