Jaguar Ambassadors Guide New Students at Port St. Lucie High School

School Counselor Christine Derry launched the Port St. Lucie High Jaguar Ambassador Program with some awesome students who are charged with welcoming and orienting our new students as they arrive to our campus. Ambassadors spend two days showing new students the ropes, walking them to their classes, sitting with them during lunch, introducing them to other students, helping them get their laptops, and ensuring they feel welcomed and cared for at their new school.  

Port St. Lucie High Students Attend Dual Enrollment Connect Night

Port St. Lucie High School students and parents attended our Dual Enrollment Connect Night. Parents were very grateful for the helpful information and extra attention given to our Dual Enrollment Jaguars. Thank you to School Counselors Monica Brooks and Christine Derry and Dual Enrollment Professor Ronald Frazer for making this a priority and keeping students and parents connected!  

Village Green’s Garden

Village Green’s garden is getting their students excited about eating fresh, local produce. Starfruit was the first fruit harvested this school year and the kids were able to enjoy this special treat at lunch. Students will be able to get a hands-on experience growing healthy food this year and tasting the benefits!

MSAP Magnet Schools Open Enrollment

Lakewood Park Elementary Students Visit the Oxbow Center

Third graders at Lakewood Park Elementary got to start their year off with a fun and engaging field trip to the Oxbow Center! There, students learned about invasive and native species of animals, got up close to some unique critters, discovered what keystone animals are and learned about pollinators through exploration.

LPA Students Conquer College Options

Counselors from Lincoln Park Academy accompanied students to the Havert Fenn Center to gain insightful information on various career pathways into promising careers through visiting many of the colleges represented nationwide.  We were also graced to have our very own Superintendent Dr. Jon R. Fairlawn’s First Grade Studies Matter

Fairlawn’s first grade students have been studying the states of matter and today they enjoyed a SWEET Science experiment! The classrooms were transformed into a 50’s dinner and students made root beer floats and identified how the ingredients included a solid, liquid, and gas all in one treat!

Lawnwood Launches SAC and PTO with Special Guest

University of Florida Visits Lincoln Park Academy

Lincoln Park Academy Students listened intently to a presentation by Mr. Carlens Clervoyant, University of Florida Admission Counselor. Students gained vital information on admission, scholarships, housing, on-campus clubs, and life in Gainesville Florida. All students who attended are eager even more than before, to go home and complete their common application by November 1. Go Future Gators!

It’s A Virtual Reality @mosaicdigitalacademy

Mosaic Digital Academy middle school students came to campus this week to learn about virtual reality. Ms. Linton and Mrs. Shovan are getting students comfortable with the new technology before diving into the mission-based lessons in Math and Science planned for this year.

LPA Girls Basketball Coach Inducted to the Southern California Basketball Hall of Fame

The administrative team surprised Coach Nicole Erickson while she was teaching her middle school physical education class.  Dr. Michelle Herrington presented Coach Erickson with a bouquet of flowers along with warm expressions to congratulate her on an amazing accomplishment. Our own LPA Girls Basketball Coach Nicole Ericson is a former Duke women’s basketball player.  She was recently selected as one of 17 individuals set to be inducted into the 2022 class of the Southern California Basketball Hall of Fame. Southern Oaks Students Inducted in Hawk Hall of Fame

  Southern Oaks continues its monthly Hall of Fame ceremony. Students are inducted into the Hawk Hall of Fame. The award ceremony takes place every month during two student-packed lunches. Students cheer and applaud their classmates who are called center stage to receive a gift, snack, and award. The induction criteria are based on a monthly theme of a positive character trait. September’s Hall of Famers are awarded for being respectful. All students receive valuable month-long lessons on the theme of respect in their science or history classes. Kinder Kiddos Learn About Johnny Appleseed with Math

The Kinder Kiddos in Mrs. Turners’ class at Windmill Point Elementary had a Johnny Appleseed Celebration!!  The students were able to taste, observe, and test different apple treats.   The students were able to chart which was their favorite type of apple and as a class, they tallied the winner. The class also did a greater than, less than, and equal to activity with the numbers!!  It was a great way to start the Fall season. s.
