FPWHS Agriscience Hosts Virtual Field Trip

Fort Pierce Westwood High School agriscience students and their instructor Jenna Blankenbaker hosted a virtual field trip for middle schools.  Using the virtual meeting platform Skype, classrooms from Northport K-8, Manatee K-8, and Allapattah Flats K-8 connected with the Westwood FFA Officers to see animals, technology, tools, and highlights of the program.

FPWHS Teachers Eager To Learn

Fort Pierce Westwood High School’s faculty and staff returned to work a week early to attend multiple training sessions all week for technology and instruction. We are geared up and ready to start the school year.

FPWHS Students Visit St. Lucie County Emergency Operation Center

Fort Pierce Westwood High School’s Criminal Justice students toured the St. Lucie County Emergency Operation center. This tour was hosted by St. Lucie County Officials and the Human Resources Department. Students gained insight on potential careers and how to utilize their industry certification starting this summer! Students were excited and look forward to the many opportunities right here in St. Lucie County.

FPWHS Students Begin “START with Hello” Initiative

The Key Club, Student Government, and Senior Class Officers kicked off the “START with Hello” initiative to address social isolation. Their goal is to help create a school where everyone feels connected and included. Students wore identifying t-shirts and gave bracelets to those with whom they interacted. FPWHS Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau Special Guest Speakers at Ft. Pierce Westwood High School this month were Mr. Randy Roundtree, Mr. Darcy McFolley, Mr. Thernell Mills, and Mrs. Shaniek Maynard.   All the speakers expressed to the students the importance of making the right choices as they journey through life. The central theme that was expressed by all the speakers was, “It’s okay to be different and not follow the crowd.”

FPWHS’ Senior Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

FPWHS could not be prouder of our senior student athletes today. FPWA’s Key Club Attended the Florida District Conference

FPWA Wraps Up Their Robotics Season

This past weekend, we wrapped up our Into The Deep 24/25 season at the FUN League FTC Regionals, placing 16th overall in the league! We started at the bottom, facing tough challenges early on, but with every competition, we improved, refined our robot, and strengthened our teamwork. We embraced FIRST Core Values, pushing ourselves to innovate, collaborate, and persevere. Though competition season has ended, our journey continues! FPWA Students Visit Capitol Hill

Fort Pierce Westwood Academy 10th graders Berkley Barnes and Paige Cruse spent their spring break in the Florida capitol. This was Berkley’s 3rd year in The House Page & Messenger Program under Representative Dana Trabulsy. Paige came up to celebrate Ag Week at the Capitol and lobby with the Florida Cattlemen‘s Association. She had the opportunity to meet many of Florida’s most influential and gain more skill sets.

FPWA Students Run Student Perks Coffee Cart

Today was the opening day of the Student Perks Coffee Cart and Fort Pierce Westwood Academy students in Ms. Cooper’s class got to be the first helpers! It is at the County Annex building on Virginia and 25th each Tuesday. Students from all the high schools rotate weeks to have the opportunity to learn skills for employment and customer service skills. They sell coffee, bagels, pastries, fruit, and tea.
