Port St. Lucie Practice Meet

On Saturday, October 14, the Jaguar Battalion hosted a practice meet for the Area 3 Regional competition. With Westwood and Central also participating, the Jaguars still dominated the competition. Although it was the first competition experience of the season, all teams put in their hard work. The Raiders will compete next Saturday at South Fork for the first Raider meet before Area 3.

Port St. Lucie Police Department and Kids at Hope to host family forum

The Port St. Lucie Police Department and Kids at Hope will present a free family forum on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in the City of Port St. Lucie Municipal Complex, 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd., from 1 to 3 PM. Port St. Lucie Jaguars vs Okeechobee Brahman Bulls

After the Jaguars take the win on Tuesday, September 19, with a score of 23-14 against the John Carroll Rams, they play again on September 22 against the Okeechobee Brahman Bulls. The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Color Guard (c/MAJ Tesa May  and c/ MSG Hayley Pollard as the flag bearers and c/CPT Morgan Emerson and c/SFC Dominic Casianio as the guards) start the game with the presentation of colors.

Port St. Lucie Jaguars vs. John Carroll Rams

After the break from school, the Port St. Lucie Jaguars start off strong with their first varsity home game against the John Carroll Rams on Tuesday, September 19. Port St Lucie HS Male team Qualifies for States

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted the Area 3 Raider Meet on November 4th. The Jaguar Raider Cadets were amongst 12 schools from across the state of Florida competing. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.5 -mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, Kettle Bell, tire flip, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Mixed team finished 3rd overall, Female team finished 2nd, Male team yet again finished 1st place overall and will be representing PSLHS at states at the university of south Florida on December 2nd! The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion competed at the Fort Peirce Central Raider Meet at Fort Peirce Central High School on October 28th. The Jaguar Raider Cadets were among 11 schools from across the state of Florida competing. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.3-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, Humvee push, tire flip, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion competed at the Jupiter Raider Meet at Jupiter High School on October 14th. Port St. Lucie HS was amongst 11 schools from across the state of Florida competing. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, 35-pound kettlebell carry, tire flip, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion attended the First Raider Meet of the season at South Fork High School on October 7th. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.8-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, 35-pound kettlebell carry, tire flip, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Mixed team finished 4th overall, Female team finished 2nd, Male team captured 1st place overall. All three teams will be competing in the Jupiter raider meet on October 14th at Jupiter High School.

Port St Lucie Highschool Qualifies for Raider States

The Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion participated in the Area 3 state qualifier Raider Meet on November 2nd. The Jaguar Raider Cadets were among 12 schools from across the area. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.5-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, obstacle course, fitness test, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Mixed team finished 4th overall, the Male team finished 2nd, and the Female team finished 1st place overall and will be representing PSLHS at states at the Florida State Raider competition in Brooksville, Florida , on November 16th!  

Port St. Lucie High’s Saleem Felder Sets a New Record!

Friday Night Lights were record breaking on Friday, October 7th. PSLHS not only WON the game, but senior, Saleem Felder set a record for the MOST TOUCHDOWNS ever by one football player at Port St. Lucie High School. Saleem scored 7 touchdowns to bring home the win with his Jaguar Football teammates!

Port St. Lucie High’s James Williams to compete in state academic games

James Williams, a member of the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion, recently took first place in the Academic A-Team district competition recently held at St. Lucie West Centennial High School. The competition was designed similar to the television game show “Jeopardy.” Six schools with a five man team competed using their knowledge on academic subjects. Williams will now go to state competition in April at Disney World in Orlando. Pictured is cadet James Williams.

Port St. Lucie High’s Culinary Arts Serves Jamaica-Me-Crazy Lunch

Port St Lucie High’s Culinary Arts hosted their Jamaica-Me-Crazy Teacher Lunch in early April.  The students and Chef Roland Foerster prepared and served teachers a taste of Negril, The West End!  The recipes included “Irie” conch soup, ackee and saltfish (national dish of Jamaica), oxtail stew, curry goat, smoked chicken and pork basted with Jazzy’s own jerk seasoning and served with pigeon peas and rice, homemade fried plantains, and “Blue Drawers” sweet coconut and cornmeal cooked in banana leaf.  All meals were served with a smile and traditional “Johnnycakes.”  There were Jaguar smiles all around!

Our phenomenal Biology teachers – Ms. Crossland, Ms. Senorine, Ms. Friend, and Mr. Archer – truly outdid themselves, putting on an amazing carnival celebration for all the dedicated biology students who went above and beyond and truly crushed it this academic year. Port St Lucie High Virtually Visits Apex Engineering in Jacksonville

Port St Lucie High School’s Technical Design and Building Construction Trades Programs virtually attended a field trip to Apex Engineering in Jacksonville, Florida.  Business Partner, Dan Morris at Apex Engineering virtually hosted John Picchiarini and Bruce Gardner’s classes.  Dan used interactive technology to demonstrate creating trusses, floor joists and discussed details of  the apprenticeship and preapprenticeship opportunities available to students in St Lucie County!  Level up CTE!  

Port St. Lucie High teammates bring home first place in HOSA contest

Two students in the Health Occupations program at Port St. Lucie High School won first place in the team event of Career Health Display at the recent regional SkillsUSA competition. Port St. Lucie High team wins staff intramural competition

The co-ed staff volleyball team from Port St. Lucie High School was recognized at the April 23, 2013, St. Lucie County School Board meeting as the winning team in the districtwide intramural competition sponsored by Wellness Coordinator Carlye Fabrikant. Port St. Lucie High students sweep regional career skills competition

Port St. Lucie High School recently hosted the Region III Skills USA carpentry competition, in which three students from Port St. Lucie High School took top honors. Cody Gosa won first place, Diamond Salazar finished second, and Christian Nowacki completed the sweep for the Jaguars with a third place finish.  Cody, who is a senior, will represent the region at the state competition next month.  Skills USA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. Port St. Lucie High students study animal evolutionary adaptations

Biology students from Port Saint Lucie High School recently visited the Brevard Zoo to expand their Florida history and evolution curriculum.  Students started the morning with a presentation on Florida’s fossil past and then spent the rest of the day exploring different evolutionary adaptations animals have that allows them to be successful in their environments.  Comparisons of different biomes and animals that occupy them were embedded in the day. For many students, this was their first trip to a zoo.
