Northport Kindergarteners Embrace “Fancy” Words with Flair!

Northport K-8 kindergarten instructor, Tiffany Tredor, and her students have been putting the “sweet and sassy” into learning new vocabulary words this year much to the delight of the students and their very happy parents! Mrs. Tredor and her students read the book “Fancy Nancy” by Jane O’Connor and are now embracing “fancy words!” Kicking off the EOVocabulary unit, students very first new word is “glimmer,” so students dressed up in their very best clothes and even insisted that Mrs. Tredor dress up as a ballerina. One of the students brought in a tutu for Mrs. Tredor to wear, but the fit was snug so she wore the student’s tutu as a fancy headdress, much to the delight of the students. The special lesson evoked joy and happiness from the children as brand new exciting vocabulary becomes a part of their lexicon of language. Great job Tiffany Tredor for bringing joy and happiness to your daily lessons as well as bringing challenging, engaging and creative work to your students. Thank you for immersing your students in the vision and mission of Northport K-8 School.
