Students in Eleanor Baker’s third grade class at Frances K. Sweet Elementary proudly display their North American country projects. Students created maps, timelines, brochures, and postcards after they researched and wrote about important events, people, and places of their chosen country.
F.K. Sweet Elementary third grade students recently visited the IRSC Planetarium. Teacher Marla Liberatore had earned a field trip grant that provided enough funding for students in all seven third grade classes could attend. Frances K. Sweet Elementary School won first place at the St. Lucie County Fair for the Elementary School display category. The students created a variety of arts based on the theme: Past, Present, and Future of St. Lucie County. Art Specialist Cary Schott, pictured, set up the display at the fair.
Upcoming fifth grades had the opportunity to attend summer camp at F. K. Sweet. Students are learning and having fun all at the same time. Fifth grade students from Frances K. Sweet Elementary took a trip back in time to the Civil War period in a field trip recently. F.K. Sweet technology teacher Michelle Adrian is busy helping third grade students Jakissia Wheeler and Kamryn Gardner create a holiday wish list while using Desk Top Publishing. Students use this program throughout the year for publishing stories and writing letters. Students this year are also enjoying using Quizlet.com for multiplication practice.
