In the 9th annual Project Citizen District Showcase, Southport Middle School students Johnathan Almeida, Abigail Ward, and Makenzie Fairchild presented their project entitled “The Overuse of Plastics in St. Lucie County” which created public policy on reducing plastic usage. In celebration of Earth Day, Mrs. Sharon Dudash’s class spent the week on a number of environmental projects re-purposing trash into beautiful artwork and gifts.
