Mariposa Elementary First Graders Help UNICEF

At Mariposa, Mrs. Elizabeth Forbes, first grade teacher, volunteered to serve as the Unicef Coordinator.  She turned this into a learning experience for her students.  She had enough coins to allow her first graders to sort, count, make patterns, and even count by 5’s and 10’s.  What an opportunity!  So now these first graders know their coins! Mariposa Elementary Fifth Graders Study Native Americans

Students in Mrs. Saunders’ 5th grade present Native American Projects.  Fifth graders enjoyed presenting Native American projects. As part of their Reading and Social Studies standards, each student researched a tribe, wrote about the culture, then created a board or diorama reflecting the unique attributes they discovered.  Pictured: Zachary Cobb, Jonah McCrory, and Victoria Serrano Melendez.
