The guest speakers for the last week of Black History Month were Sandy Mack, Sr. and Dr. Samuel S. Gaines. Mr. Mack spoke about  the importance of listening to  and learning from elders. Dr. Samuel Gaines explained how far we’ve come from the segregation he experienced and having a hard time just getting books to now having an academy named after him with all the supplies they students need. He encouraged students to take advantage of this privilege. Both men emphasized the importance of working hard to achieve your goals and to then give back and help others. The civics students want to thank these men and all the guest speakers this month for helping to make history come alive for them. #SLPSMagnet
