Johnson and Wales University hosted a Culinary Skills Day for junior and senior students from four St. Lucie Public Schools. St. Lucie West Centennial High School’s Culinary Program hosted the event on their campus and welcomed students from their own culinary program as well as those from Fort Pierce Central High School, Port St. Lucie High School, and Treasure Coast High School. Each student worked with four professional chefs.
The chefs conducted workshops highlighting their area of expertise. Over 100 future chefs completed hands-on culinary activities with the professional chefs from Johnson and Wales University. The hands-on sessions were the Visual Culinarian, the Cutting Edge, Slow Foods, and Desserts: The Last Impression. In addition to these, an educational session was provided for the culinary instructors who attended.
