The Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC cadets were excited to present the colors and be part of the Blue Star Memorial Highway Program at Veterans Memorial Park. Cadet Major Dallas Reyes led the Color Guard presenting the national flag, Cadet First Sergeant Morgan Emerson presented the state flag, and standing as the guards were Cadet Captain Travis Cetin and Cadet Command Sergeant Major Damilola Jolaogun.
The Blue Star Memorial Highway Program was adopted by the National Garden Clubs in 1945. The program was later endorsed by the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. Other US Highways in Florida were designated as Blue Star Memorials. The Color Guard marched in honor to give tribute to our men and women who served in United States Armed Forces. We look forward to doing a Color Guard for events much like this one in the future.
