Northport “Faith In Literacy” Summer Reading Program Underway

This year, the third annual Northport Faith In Literacy Summer Reading Program is off to a great start. The First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie congregation collected 3,600 new and gently used books to provide students with enough books to start a stack of summer reading books in their homes.

Students learned about the importance of summer reading and not letting their skills in reading slide back. They enjoyed selecting ten books each. Some selected books to read to their younger brothers and sisters. They also learned where to locate additional books over the summer at no cost or inexpensively.

According to Mrs. Farr, Northport fifth grade teacher, “My students are enjoying reading again this year. They are sharing and talking about their new books!”

This is the bottom line at Northport, Joyful reading and writing! Thank you so much to our partners at First United Methodist Church. You ROCK!

Northport and GiveBack2Kids Partner for Success!

Northport partners, Giveback2kids Inc., along with parents and families delighted in the awesome goodness of many kids during a recent celebration of children ❤. Northport’s partnership with David Gornitzky and James Monds offers proof in the pudding that we can steer children in the right direction and help them navigate a great course for their futures.

Northport and Parkway Elementary came together to showcase the Arts…and WOW! We saw some showstoppers. We listened to a highly motivating talk by Rich Williams and the students were rewarded with a fabulous dinner catered by DaVinci’s restaurant. We are just so proud to be a part of GiveBack2Kids….it’s what we do..work with children to help them achieve their potential…WE LIVE IT, AND WE LOVE IT ❤.

Congressman Brian Mast Visits TCHS AFJROTC

Congressman Brian Mast took time out his busy schedule on April 23rd to meet with the AFJROTC cadets of Treasure Coast High School.  Addressing them for an hour in the school’s auditorium, he spoke passionately about keys to success in life after high school, sharing his own personal life experiences to both educate and inspire the cadets towards reaching their goals.  Additionally, he addressed civic responsibility and patriotism.  It was a huge honor for the cadets to have an audience with their congressman and be allowed to ask him a lot of questions.
