On August 12, 2017, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Color Guard presented the colors to a group of 32 wounded veterans.
The Jaguar color guard marched to welcome and honor the wounded veterans on the 6th Annual Wounded Warrior Surf Day Project, a day marked to enjoy surfing at the Fort Pierce Inlet State Park.
Congratulations to LPA senior, Sebastian Suarez, for earning Congress’ only charity, the Congressional Award. Sebastian completed over 400 hours of voluntary public service, 200 hours of personal development and 200 hours of physical fitness over a 24-month period, to include a 5-day, self-planned trip to New York City, where he explored the various cultures that helped shape the formation of the city, to garner this prestigious award and meet his personal goals.
Sebastian attributes his reaching this goal through the support and encouragement of teachers and administrators at Lincoln Park Academy. “At Lincoln Park Academy, I have had the opportunity to grow and develop in a safe and encouraging environment,” says Sebastian.
The Congressional Award was established in 1979 and was created to honor, encourage and inspire America’s youth ages 14 to 23.
