Donuts for Dads was a great success at Morningside Elementary. Dads, grandads, uncles, and some moms brought their students to school from 8:15-8:45 am. They enjoyed doughnuts and coffee with their students in the cafeteria and in classrooms across the campus.
Ronda Cerulli and Jared Farias from “Safe Kids” presented pedestrian safety to the students at Morningside Elementary.
Gaines Academy had a wonderful turnout for their Dads Take Your Child to School Day. After a welcome from administration, the SGA Chorus sang and Student Council President Lopez Bourjolly spoke about the importance of making memories with your child. As the students and their caring adult ate a light breakfast, they enjoyed a reading activity and signed the Pledge for Fathers and Men.

What a wonderful “Northport Dads Bring Your Child to School 2016” event. The kids were thrilled to have dads walk them to classes and to introduce them to their teachers and their friends. Everyone shared a great time eating donuts and having coffee, juice and water and meeting other dads. We care about our dads and all the positive males in our kids lives because the role they play is so powerful. Having a positive male role model can transform a child into a successful student and good citizen. Dads pledged to support their children’s education, to set high expectations, to stay informed about what happens at school and to encourage their child to do their very best.
Thank you everyone for coming out to Northport today! Pictured: Glenn McKinney(dad) and his five children
