Fourth and Fifth grade students from Palm Pointe Educational Research School at Tradition were recognized as the first Beta Chapter. Beta stands for promoting the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership. Students collected many items throughout the school year and donated them to several different charities. These students work hard each and every day and are leaders in the school. Tara Hearl, fourth grade teacher is the sponsor for the club and we appreciate her commitment to these students. We are extremely proud of all that they have achieved this year and look forward to the club helping others next year. Great job students!
St. Lucie Public Schools Launches Summer Slide Program
The summer months are upon us, and St. Lucie Public Schools is pleased to help your child continue to learn and grow throughout the summer. New this year, we are providing free academic resources to support students’ continued growth. The “Summer Slide” program includes engaging web-based resources for grades PreK through 12 available for use by students, parents, and community organizations any time and from any place.
What is Summer Slide? It is the tendency for students to lose some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year. The web page of resources was created in order to allow students to strengthen their skills and avoid learning loss over the summer. Grade level resources are arranged by content, including: Arts/Technology, English Language Arts, English Language Learners (ELL), Math, Science, Social Studies, and College Career Readiness. The resources allow students to have a self-guided and self-paced experience. Students will be able to interact with a variety of learning programs with content geared toward a multitude of interests. Visit www.stlucieschools.org homepage and look for the “Summer Slide” logo to explore the VPK through grade 12 resources.
St. Lucie Public Schools is committed to supporting student growth. There is evidence of positive trends in many areas including, climbing graduation rates, ever increasing scholarship dollars, and the rising percent of students scoring satisfactory on the grade 3 ELA assessment. We look forward to these resources strengthening our partnership with our parents and community leaders. Don’t let summer slide away, explore the many resources we have put together for you. We think you will like what you see!
