Fort Pierce Housing Authority Recognized for Donation To Dale Cassens

The Fort Pierce Housing Authority was recognized at the School Board Meeting on February 10, 2015. Andrea Kochanowski, Executive Director for Fort Pierce Housing Authority, presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Dale Cassens Education Complex to be used to support the Spring Fling, the school store, and future Positive Behavior Intervention support activities. Andrea is a SAC member at Dale Cassens. Her dedication and support of the students is evident through her participation in various events such as Fall Festival, Spring Fling, and Teacher Appreciation Week. This year Fort Pierce Housing Authority donated Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to their needy families. The Dale Cassens family is fortunate to have Andrea as a valued community member.

Second Grade Celebrates Other Cultures

Second Grade Celebrates Other Cultures

Gung Hay Fat Choy! Ms. Schumacher’s 2nd graders at West Gate K-8 rang in the Chinese New Year with their new lanterns. They spent the day learning about China’s culture and customs. They were excited to get their hands on the Chinese alphabet to write to their friends and to decorate their lanterns. They also incorporated math, too! By using rulers, they were able to measure one inch borders around their paper (to know where not to cut!).
