Centennial cadets win armed exhibition drill

The St. Lucie West Centennial High School Black Talon Company competition team recently competed against 15 other Florida Navy JROTC units including two former national champs.  The cadets returned successfully from Felix Varela High School in Miami with three trophies: fourth place in Armed Basic Regulation Drill, third place in Overall Drill, and first place in  Armed Exhibition Drill Team.  The cadets are now preparing for their next competition in February.

Westwood Panther battalion places third in competition

Ft Pierce Westwood Panther Battalion places third in the physical training (PT) test during in the recent Area III Raiders Competition at Southfork High School. It was a grueling comeptiton consisting of an academic exam, a first aid exam, a physical training test (measuring endurance and physical fitness), a three mile run, and a 1 1/2 run with a litter weighing 80 pounds.  The cadets were up for the challenge, they trained hard daily and gave their all, while having an amazing time.

Palm Pointe first graders celebrate positive behavior

First grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition celebrated a PBS reward in their pod by raising 25 white rocket fuel for their whole classes’ behavior.  The students chose a snow cone and dance party as their reward.  The students all had a great time and saw how positive behavior in the classroom is rewarded!

Hot air abounds in Palm Pointe science classes

Peggy Radtke’s eighth grade science classes at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition recently did an experiment where they constructed their own hot air balloons and then measured the amount of time that their balloons stayed in the air. Palm Pointe hosts a clarinet clinic

Recently at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition a clinic was hosted for clarinet players in the four county area.  The evening was sponsored by Music Man Instrument Company and included master classes as well as give aways.  Students were able to gain experience by listening to two clinicians as well as picking up technique hints that were offered.  Way to go Rockets!
