Nursing Assistant students from Port St. Lucie High School and St. Lucie West Centennial High School participated in the Indian River State College’s (IRSC) Health Science and Nursing programs’ tour and simulation day! Breakfast, Volunteering, Crafts, and Karaoke! FPC Key Club Does It All! Breakfast with Santa was organized by New Horizons and the wife of Fort Pierce Central High School teacher and Coach Jeff Rymer. Participants were asked to donate unwrapped gifts, adults were charged $5, and children were free. FPC Key Club helped set up tables for kid’s cookie decorating, ornament making, and Christmas card making. As children had their photos taken with Santa, FPC Key Club members would take the developed photo to the families. Mariposa Elementary VPK Students were encouraged to review the letters they learned. The students practiced by matching magnet letters to letter cards. They also reviewed upper and lower case letters by finding their match. The students collaborated together, worked together as a team, and practiced taking turns to allow everyone’s input to be observed.

MIDFLORIDA Credit Union brought, “The Gift of Reading” to our Kindergarten classes. Mr. Slason read, Picture Book by Dog to our students and gave them each a book to take home. We are so grateful and can’t wait for them to visit again!
Ms. Quinn’s K-2 InD ESE class is using Secret Santa’s Elf Delivery Service as an opportunity to work on their communication and social skills. Each day the Oak Hammock student elves deliver gifts to teachers and take the opportunity to work on social skills. Students are learning the importance of knocking before entering a room, looking in the direction of the person they are speaking to, introducing themselves and being polite and respectful. The student elves are bringing such joy to all those they encounter along the way.
The CAST Middle School Dance Team, under the direction of Mrs. Megan Murphy, auditioned and were accepted to perform at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida. They will be performing Saturday, December 18th at 12:45pm on the Waterside Stage in Disney Springs! Get ready, the CAST Dance Team is Disney bound and ready to dazzle the stage!
Students in the Southport Middle School band put on an outstanding performance at their annual Winter Band Concert. Under the direction of Bandmaster James LeBon, the beginning band featured music for the holidays, along with a variety of old favorites as they celebrated this exciting time of the year. The Advanced Band also did an outstanding job in front of a full house and an enthusiastic audience.
Last week the CAST Band Program, under the direction of Mr. Sandon Chevlin, presented their end-of-semester concert. The concert included four selections performed by the Sixth Grade Beginning Band, three selections performed by the Seventh/Eighth Grade Concert Band, “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” performed by the Wind Ensemble, and an arrangement of a theme from the Nutcracker performed by an advanced clarinet quintet made of students and the director. For half of the students in the concert, it was their first band concert ever. What an exciting and incredible experience!
Third and Fourth-grade CAST artists created Florida State Symbol Clay Tiles as a “practice run” for a larger tile mosaic that will be displayed permanently in the school’s administration building. Students focused on the Visual Art Standard VA.3-4.F.3.3: Demonstrate the skills needed to complete artwork in a timely manner, demonstrate perseverance, and development of 21st-century skills.
At Lakewood Park Elementary students have an opportunity to have an adult that checks in and out with them each day. They work together to improve behavior and students are rewarded with points, Falcon Bucks, games with staff members, and more. We are proud of all of our Falcons!!!!
Students and faculty at Weatherbee got festive before Thanksgiving break! Students earned tasty treats for reaching their goals while faculty members participated in a competitive turkey hunt. Fun was had by all before enjoying a restful break.
We are thrilled to share that the Lincoln Park Academy Theatre, Troupe 6958, participated in the District 15 One Act Festival this past weekend and received a straight Superior Rating as well as Best In Show. This means that they will be moving on to State Festival in March! Other awards included the Strongest Dramatic Performance and All-star Ensemble Cast. Emily Bouchillon received an award for her performance in the Best Supporting Actress category, Kaitlyn Oravec received an award for All-Star Actor in their troupe, and Darian Brown received an award for his performance in the Best Supporting Actor category. … Read More

Although recently established, the Students4H2O Lincoln Park Academy organization has over twenty members who are eager to expand Students4H2O’s mission of creating a sustainable community and planet by enhancing education, stewardship, and citizenship for all students in our community. St. Lucie Public Schools hosted a well-attended event for students and families interested in learning about Attractor Programs at Fort Pierce Central High School, Fort Pierce Westwood Academy: The WEST Prep, and Lincoln Park Academy. Attendees met with current students and staff from each school to gain information about their extraordinary programs.
With suitcases in hand, Samuel S. Gaines Academy of Emerging Technologies Kindergarten embarked on a journey around the world to learn all about the different holiday traditions in each country. With passports stamped, students read and wrote about one country each day and built their knowledge on holiday traditions celebrated everywhere!
Talented dancers in Mrs. Murphy’s and Mrs. Curtis’ dance classes just finished their fall performances. Our outstanding dancers shined on stage as they performed Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and African-style dance routines.
During Jumpstart’s Read for the Record event on October 28, PNC bank generously donated copies of the book “Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon” to VPK students. During the event, Mariposa students drew pictures of their dragons while PNC bank employees read virtually to students. Thank you PNC bank!
Fort Pierce Central came out to the Annual Christmas Parade in Fort Pierce to share joy and cheer! FPC Marching Cobra Band and Key Club showed Fort Pierce that the new Christmas colors are Purple and Gold! Over 100 Key Club members participated! Thank you to Mrs. Peschio, Ms. Nicole Hood-Child, and Mrs. Santoro for their assistance in making this year’s parade a Cobra success!
