Lakewood Park Elementary Students Were Trained To Be An Assistant Principal

Lakewood Park Elementary students can earn Falcon Bucks every day for being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. They have a chance to shop at the PBIS cart every week to spend those “bucks”. Some of these students chose to use their Falcon Bucks to purchase a ticket to be the Assistant Principal for 30 minutes. They were trained to be an Assistant Principal by walking with our Principal, Mrs. Walukiewicz, and helping her with some of her responsibilities. Lakewood Park Elementary Students Decorate Holiday Cookies for Their PBIS Event

Students at Lakewood Park Elementary had an opportunity to use their Falcon Bucks today for a Holiday Cookie Decorating and Movie Party. Mrs. Keim, former LWP teacher, and our volunteer, baked all of the cookies for students to decorate. Students decorated their cookies with icing and sprinkles. While they were decorating they watched a holiday movie and at the end played holiday games. We are so proud of our Falcons for being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.

WEST Prep’s Popup Spa Day

WEST Prep celebrated their faculty and staff by having a PopUp Spa party for self-care and relaxation before they left for the winter break. There were several stations that panthers could choose from to tailor their self-care wishes. Station set ups included vision boards, coloring, sensory, stretch/yoga, massage, infused water and facials.

A Central Culinary Christmas Celebration!

On Wednesday, December 15th, the Fort Pierce Central High School Culinary Department provided staff with a four-star dining experience. This year’s holiday banquet was a warm and innovative celebration in the Cobra Café. As staff walked through the doors of the café, the sound of Bing Crosby singing Christmas carols greeted our ears. Home of the Cranes

On December 13th, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion made a two-day visit to Southport Middle school. Our cadets there conducted gym class and did many activities such as tug of war, motivation checks, and rotations that involved exercising with the students at Southport. The cadets also informed them about our program and what involves JROTC. It was a good chance for our program to connect with some of our future high schoolers.

FPC Holiday Toy Drive Success!

FPC Hosts Door Decorating Contest!

Student Government Association (SGA) of Fort Pierce Central High School hosted a staff door decorating contest to spread holiday cheer! The Santa on the left is Mr. Coughlin’s creation from room 1-123. The snow friend on the right is Mrs. Baechle’s from room 1-122. 3rd Annual Shop with a Titan Event a Success!

Last week the Treasure Coast Titan Ambassadors hosted their 3rd Annual Shop with a Titan event at Target in Tradition. This year the Ambassadors raised over $3,000 and took almost 30 St. Lucie Public School students holiday shopping.

Lincoln Park Academy Theatre Stole the Show at District 15 Thespian Festival!

LPA Theatre- Troupe 6958 stole the show at the Individual Event Festival this weekend! Bringing home 21 superior ratings and 8 critics’ choice trophies. In addition, 2 scholarships were awarded to Jonathan Edwards and Kailee Larmon, and the overall best technical theatre event of the weekend was awarded to Tyler Daniel. This means that we have 6 individual events, an overall critics choice piece, and our One Act Play that will be moving on to the State Festival in March! We can’t wait to rock State Festival!

Learning to read and write is always fun and engaging in Ms. Torres’ First Grade class at St. Lucie West K-8 School! By using Interactive Notebooks, these students are able to systematically organize their notes and thoughts while they learn! JAWSOME JOB, SHARKS!  

Literature Circles Help Students Understand Point Of View At SLWK8

St. Lucie West K-8 School students in Ms. Scavone’s 8th grade Gifted English Language Arts class have been reading “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton during Literature Circles. While reading, students have been focusing on learning about characters’ Point of View and completed a character chart during small group time. Each character chart included Point of View, an analysis of symbolism while citing textual evidence and identifying character traits. SUPER JAWSOME, SHARKS!  

MIDFLORIDA Gift of Reading

MIDFLORIDA Community Credit Union is hosting the Gift of Reading program throughout Kindergarten classrooms and elementary media centers. Every Kindergarten student and teacher will receive a copy of the book Picture book by Dog written by Michael Relth and a bookmark. If their parents open a youth savings account, MIDFLORIDA will deposit the first $5. The savings account is paying 1% interest on the first $5000 in deposits.  

Lawnwood Elementary Students Enjoyed a Yummy Math Snack

First Grade students from Lawnwood Elementary enjoyed a yummy snack as they explored place value and the properties of operation for addition and subtraction. Students used marshmallows and gummy worms as concrete models to deepen their understanding of place value concepts. GO LEOPARDS!

Mariposa Elementary PBIS Event

Mariposa Elementary PBIS event recently had students voting for who they wanted to wear a turkey costume. We had one nominee from each grade level and resource, along with Mrs. Whitaker and Mrs. Patton. Students were allowed to use the butterfly bucks they earned performing the I CAN expectations of  Act Responsibly, Be Respectful, Create Safety, and Do My Best. The nominees were Ms. Buck, Ms. Dimeglio, Ms. Auciello, Ms. Biegner, Mr. Evans, Ms. Guntow, and Ms. Nunez. The winner of the costume was Mr. Evans! The students loved seeing their music teacher dressed as a turkey!  

Port St. Lucie High School Angel Tree

Every year, the Port Saint Lucie JROTC program has the privilege to work with Guardians for New Futures and Communities Connected for Kids, to collect toys for kids during the holiday season. Port Saint Lucie High School staff and JROTC cadets sponsored many kids to make sure they have a memorable holiday season. We were able to collect over 100 gifts this year.
