                          Students and family members enjoyed a night of fun filled activities and shopping at Oak Hammock K8 Title 1 Family Night and Scholastic Book Fair. TCHS AFJROTC Supports DDS for Veterans

On October 8, TCHS AFJROTC cadets served at the DDS For Vets Annual Fundraising Gala. DDS for Vets is an organization that raises money to support wounded veterans by gifting them service dogs. Each service dog costs $100K to train over a yearlong period, so the DDS Gala was an important fundraising event for DDS. TCHS color guard posted and retired the colors and its POW/MIA honor guard team performed a ceremony in remembrance of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action. The event was attended by many VIPs, including Congressman Brian Mast.

2022-2023 SLPS College Fair Rescheduled

The 2022-2023 SLPS College Fair has been rescheduled! Join St. Lucie Public Schools on Thursday, November 3rd, for the annual college fair from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Havert L. Fenn Center. Over 50 college and university representatives will be there to meet with prospective students. You will also be able to participate in financial aid sessions to get valuable information about paying for college. SLPS students in grades 9 through 12 are encouraged to attend. Have your questions answered by college and university reps as you speak with them one-on-one. See you at the SLPS College Fair!

Port St. Lucie High’s Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA) Students under the Leadership of Registered Nurse Mrs. Jacklyn Cebelak, as they prepare to earn clinical experiences at Emerald Health Care Nursing Facility. The students performed tasks alongside licensed CNA’s to include vitals, tray passing, dressing, feeding & social activities. Former Fortune 500 Executive Returns to Fort Pierce to Inspire Students and Community

On Thursday, September 22, 2022, Indian River State College hosted a community conversation in support of Lee E. Rhyant, the former Executive Vice President and General Manager for Lockheed-Martin Marietta. Mr. Rhyant, a native of Fort Pierce and graduate of Lincoln Park Academy, highlighted his new book, Soaring Eleven Guiding Principles on the Path from Segregation to Success, co-authored with Dr. Catherine Lewis. Lincoln Park Academy’s award-winning choral ensemble “Belle Voix”, by request, performed a beautiful rendition of “I Shall not Live in Vain”. Southern Oaks Starts Hawk Hall of Fame

Southern Oaks Middle School started a Hawk Hall of Fame in September. Students are being awarded with a certificate each month at lunch in front of their peers for following SOAR and CLE expectations. Students are now excited to be recognized in next month’s Hawk Hall of Fame.

Referendum Renewal

Vending Machines Aren’t Just for Snacks Anymore!

The Children’s Services Council generously donated book vending machines to both White City Elementary School and Windmill Point Elementary School! In attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremonies from the Children’s Services Council were Chief Executive Officer Sean Boyle, Chief Operating Officer Ashley Mock, and Community Engagement Coordinator John Cesar. Port St. Lucie High School Athletic Department Collects Supplies for Hurricane Ian Victims!

The Port St. Lucie High School Athletic Department, headed by Athletic Director Harold Barnwell spent lots of time collecting bottled water, a variety of food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to help our neighbors affected by Hurricane Ian. We are so thankful that we did well during the Hurricane and want to support our fellow Floridian’s as they begin the huge task of recovery.
