Sponsored by the Friends of the Rupert J. Smith Law Library, a Law Day Art Contest is being held that is open to all K-12 St. Lucie County public and private school students. Thank you Career and Technical Education Teachers, Coolest Teachers Ever! CTE Month is observed to recognize the accomplishments of students and educators and highlight the collaboration among local leaders, businesses, and industry partners that contribute to the success of CTE programs across Florida.   Florida has nearly 800,000 K-12 CTE students – the highest in the state’s history – more than 380,000 postsecondary CTE students, and over 17,000 registered apprentices.

SLW Centennial Students Win Black History Month Essay Contest

Culinary Students Serve the Community at Port St. Lucie Citizen Summit

Culinary students from Port St. Lucie High School and Northport K8 made the community smile with their chef jackets and conversation.  The food was delicious and many came back for seconds of the ham pickle roll-ups, Key Lime cheesecake dip, banana bread, coconut rice crispy treats, Caprese skewers, and Port St. Lucie High’s signature wontons with ginger dipping sauce, and Caribbean shrimp with fruit salsa.

Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds Win Big at SLC Fair

Mr. Mathison’s Adobe CAPE Academy put their photography skills to the test, with every student entering a picture into the St. Lucie County Fair’s Student Photography test. Students selected and framed all their own pictures. Each student earned a ribbon for their participation, but some stood out, including 16 first place, 13 second place and 9 third place ribbons. Students earning first and second earned prize money for their entries. Mr. Mathison can’t be more proud of their accomplishments!

SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC Competes in Florida State Area 7 Drill Championships, Earns 3rd Place in Color Guard and 3rd Place in Armed Exhibition Drill!

The SLW Centennial High School’s NAVY JROTC “Black Talon” Company competed in the Florida State Area 7 Drill Championship hosted by Riverview High School’s NJORTC in Riverview, Florida. The competition took place on Saturday, March 4th, 2023. SLW Centennial Culinary Students Win at ProStart Competition in Orlando

St. Lucie West Centennial culinary students competed at the 22nd annual State ProStart competitions in Orlando. Senior Dorian Green was recognized as SLW Centennial’s top Culinary Arts student. Senior Kameil Miller placed 4th in State in the Edible centerpiece competition. Greyhound Wrestlers Triumph at State

A huge congratulations to the three Greyhound wrestlers that competed at state this past weekend. All three brought home state medals!  Tenth grader Trenton Hogan took seventh place, and eighth grader Quisiera Wilson took fifth place.  Greyhound senior Kyle Grey took home first place and earned the title of State Champion.   Congratulations to the Greyhound students and coaches on a job well done!    

The Jaguar Battalion Remains Undefeated!

On Saturday, March 4th, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion competed against 7 other schools in a Drill competition held at Seminole Ridge Community High School in Westlake, Florida. The events our Female and Male Teams competed in were Unarmed/Armed Squad, Unarmed/Armed Platoon, Color Guard, and Solo/Duo Exhibition drill. Allapattah Flats Ag Students Prepare for Fair 2023

St. Lucie West Centennial Culinary Arts Hosts Junior Achievement

Northport Culinary Students Make Treats

Culinary Arts students at Northport K-8 are following kitchen safety protocols by creating rice crispy treats.  Some chose to drizzle melted chocolate or add mini M&Ms while others formed shapes such as hearts and snowmen.  The delicious treats were sold at the Northport K-8 Winter Band Concert!
