Palm Pointe celebrated attendance with an attendance spirit week! Students dressed like superheroes, wore their best wacky tacky outfits, showed off their school colors, and they got to finish out the week wearing their best outfits for Spring Picture Day! It was a fun week for all! #attendancematters

Twin Day Tie Dye Activity

Students at Floresta showed their spirit during Twin Day. Mrs. Tameika Anderson’s class created matching tie-dye shirts to wear for the occasion.

LPA Chorus “Superior with Distinction” at FVA State Solo and Ensemble MPA

Congratulations to the following chorus students who participated in the Florida Vocal Association State Solo and Ensemble Music Performance Assessment which was held at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Westwood FFA Parliamentary Procedure at Board Meeting

Fort Pierce Westwood Academy students and FFA members Lilly Revels, Berkley Barnes, Elizabeth Rufo, Jayden Weil, Alyssa Coppock, and Laila Chastine presented Parliamentary Procedure at the monthly School Board Meeting. Westwood’s proud Principal Alfonso, Assistant Principal Gordon, and Agriscience Instructor Jenna Blakenbaker cheered them on as well as St. Lucie Public Schools Career and Technical Education CTE Director Aliesha Seitz.

SLWCHS moves to National HOSA Competition

Let’s congratulate our HOSA State Competitors! Ella Treadway, Genevieve Donaus, Alexia Morgan, and Kechna Fieffe competed against over 3,800 competitors from across the state of Florida. St. Lucie West Centennial High School represented St. Lucie Public Schools with two finalists. Special recognition to Genevieve Donaus, placing 4th in Nursing Assisting, and Ella Treadway for taking the 1st place position in Human Growth & Development. Morningside Shines Bright

MSE Shines BRIGHT in the Solar Eclipse Light! Today, classes viewed the eclipse and recorded observations. Students then answered the essential question: Did Florida experience a Total Solar Eclipse? Then teachers were treated with an eclipse-themed lunch, SunChips, moon pies, Sunkist, and pizza pies. It was a sunny day for all. #MSEshinesBRIGHT

LPA Students Investigate at CSI STEM Night

On April 4th, the LPA Science Bowl hosted their first CSI STEM Night. Students who attended investigated the case of the missing spirit stick. They analyzed fingerprints and fibers, used black lights to inspect the crime scene, and interrogated suspects – all to find the culprit who stole the spirit stick! School Resource Officers and the St. Lucie County CSI Unit also attended to help facilitate the investigation.

Jaguar Battalion Shines at States

On Saturday, April 6th, the Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion competed in the Florida State Drill meet at George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Florida after placing 1st in the Area 3 Drill Meet State Qualifier at Seminole Ridge Community High School. Our Female and Male teams competed against 99 of the best JROTC programs in the state of Florida. Field Day Fun at Lawnwood Elementary School

K-5 Students enjoyed Field Day Activities.  Field day is the perfect opportunity for students to use the skills they have learned during physical education.  Students enjoyed the friendly competition as they were encouraged to put forth their best effort and work as a team.  A special thank you goes out to Coach Paul, Coach Fredryk, and Mr. Ortiz for coordinating our 2024 Field Day Events.  GO LEOPARDS!

Westwood FFA Horse Judging Competes

The Fort Pierce Westwood Academy FFA Horse Judging team competed at the University of Florida FFA State Horse Judging contest against the best horse judging teams in the State of Florida. They had to pass the preliminary online test and be a top 15 team at the State Fair to be eligible to even compete at the State contest. Westwood’s team placed 6th in the state with 3 freshman and only one veteran judger. Wow! Team members consist of Zoey Thomaselli, Abigail Brickley, Madison Curtis and Adrianna Spotts. St. Lucie West K8 Business Project Competition Finalists Win 1st and 2nd Place!

Business project competition finalists went to the district office and won first and second place in two categories. Ms. Tremblay’s culinary career students competed in the New Food Truck concept division and both teams earned first and second place! Jake Askew and Angel Castillo won first place with Juanito’s Latin Cuisine. Oscar Sanchez won second place with Mandos, a Mexican – African American fusion restaurant. Comcast’s “Internet Essentials” is geared to those who have at least one child who receives free school lunches through the National School Lunch Program. Other criteria include being located where Comcast offers Internet service. Oak Hammock K8 Student Wins at the St. Lucie County History Fair

Sawyer Putnam, a 6th grade student at Oak Hammock K8 School competed at the St. Lucie District History Fair and won first place for his individual exhibit titled “The Completion of the Panama Canal”. He competed against 92 other students from various middle and high schools in St. Lucie County. Congratulations Sawyer! Continue to level up learning.

Celebrating the SLPS Schools of Excellence

Congratulations to our Schools of Excellence; Fairlawn Elementary School, Morningside Elementary, Palm Pointe K-8 Educational Research School, and Mosaic Digital Academy! The State Board of Education designates a school as a School of Excellence if the school’s percentage of possible points earned in its school grade calculation is in the 80th percentile or higher for schools comprised of the same grade groupings (elementary, middle, high, and combination) for at least two of the last three school years.

North County Career Fair

The North County Career Fair was held on April 4th at the Havert L. Fenn Center. Approximately 400 juniors and seniors from Fort Pierce Westwood Academy, Fort Pierce Central, Lincoln Park Academy, and Performance Based Preparatory Academy were in attendance. Students were able to meet and chat with company representatives, ask questions about their company and careers, interview, and possibly land internships. Elementary Science Showcase: A Celebration of Curiosity and Creativity!

On Saturday, April 6th, our school community came together for the Elementary Science Showcase, an event that ignited young minds and celebrated their scientific endeavors. Held at our district office, this showcase provided a platform for our elementary students to shine, share, and inspire. Students eagerly displayed their projects, engaging visitors in lively discussions. Whether presenting individually or as part of a group, their passion and knowledge were palpable. SLWCHS Performs in Music in Our Schools

On Wednesday, March 27, The Centennial High School Chorus performed in the Superintendent’s Concert for Music In Our Schools (MIOS) at Fenn Center in Fort Pierce.  SLWCHS had 8 Chorus members participate this year: Jessica Dorvil, Jimmy Haga, Amari Taylor, Colin Bappoo, Josiah Castillo, Haley Nathan, Akeliah Chisholm, and Aryanna Alberts.  Students attended rehearsal the day before, with an all-day rehearsal the day of with other students selected from their choirs at all of our St. Lucie High Schools.  Groups to perform were Elementary Music, Middle School Band and Choir, and High School Band and Choir.  

Central’s Track & Field Claim Victory!

Congratulations to Central’s Track and Field team on their victory with the Cobra Relay. The team placed first in the county. Our Cobras will be back at Lawnwood Stadium to celebrate their senior night and compete in the St. Lucie County Championship meet. Go Cobras!
