The Jaguar Battalion’s Homecoming Color Guard

On October 13th, 2023 the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion presented the Colors at the Homecoming football game against Okeechobee High School. Commanding the Color Guard was National Flag Bearer, Cadet Commander Sergeant Major Isaac Mendez accompanied by Cadet Sergeant Sherkeysia Johnson as State Flag Bearer, Cadet Captain Tamiya Ferguson as Right Guard, and Cadet Sergeant Rebecca Guison as Left Guard.  

“Too Good” at Village Green

Village Green Elementary’s Kindergarten classes have been participating in the Mendez Foundation’s “Too Good” program for the past few weeks. Ms. Kia has been teaching these little ones about conflict resolution, anger management, respect for self and others as well as effective communication. She is using cooperative learning and age-appropriate tactics to help keep the kids engaged while learning. These kids will be well-equipped with the tools to help them succeed!  

News from the Resource Classes at White City Elementary!

In Coach Jones and Coach Smith’s PE classes, students practice their yoga positions and learn new ways to manage stress! They are also learning how to Double Dutch jump with the longer jump ropes! In Mr. Tobin’s Art class, fourth and fifth-grade students work on their Mexican-inspired sun art. Students explored lines, patterns, shapes, and colors. They are excited to share their work with the rest of their classes! In Mr. Deleon’s Media class, fifth-grade students read aloud to their groups about Hispanic individuals who made an impact in our society!

Morningside Students Hike Around the World!

Second grade students at Morningside Elementary have begun their “hike around the world”. First stop: Africa. Each student chose a country, completed a research packet, developed a project, and presented it to their classmates. Where will they go next? Morningside is Building a Community by Honoring the Past

To end their unit on Historical Resources and Timelines, students in Mrs. McKenna’s class completed their very first home project! Students got creative while making a timeline based on each year of their life, using primary sources. Morningside Illuminates Learning

Mrs. Moore’s fourth grade AMP students at Morningside Elementary School really know how to make their work glow. Today students used highlighters and black lights to illuminate their models of decimal multiplication. Earlier this week, they used unique math manipulatives (Cheerios, pretzels and crackers) to model repeated addition of decimals. Southern Oaks Student Achieve 100% CTE Pass Rate

  Southern Oaks Middle School Career and Technology Education (CTE) students accomplished a remarkable achievement by receiving a 100% pass rate on their ICT Cyber Security Essentials digital tools certification examination. For the school’s CTE teacher, Mr. Marvin Williamson, this is his third time receiving a one hundred percent pass rate in his four years as the school’s CTE instructor. MSE Collaborates to Build a Hispanic Heritage Quilt!

Students and staff at Morningside Elementary were invited to share something about their family’s Hispanic culture. Each individual was given a square to take home, decorate, and return. The quilt squares represent something they might celebrate together, something they enjoy doing together, something that represents them and their Hispanic heritage. #MSEshinesBRIGHT

Port St. Lucie High School Band Rocks Crown Jewel!

The Port St. Lucie High School Band, led by Band Director Troy Wiley had a phenomenal time at Crown Jewel this weekend! Shout out to @crownjewelvb for running a flawless and welcoming event as always! Our band did extremely well earning best in class in the Gold division, and best Color Guard in the whole competition! @colorguardpslhs was incredible today!!!  What an incredible performance by you all! Band is amazing, love it, live it!!  

OHK8 3rd-5th Grade Girls Participates in Girls on the Run

3rd- 5th grade girls at Oak Hammock K8 school learn critical life skills while participating in a research-based program called Girls on the Run. The students meet in a small group setting with trained volunteer coaches, twice a week for 10 weeks. The coaches motivate the girls to strengthen their confidence and other life skills through interactive lessons and physical activities. The girls and coaches are working together to Level Up their Star Power!                                   

LPA Chorus Selected for 2023 Disney Candlelight Processional

Lincoln Park Academy Chorus has been chosen to participate in the 2023 Candlelight Processional and Massed Choir Program at the Walt Disney World® Resort!  This is the 17th consecutive year that they have been selected. Being accepted for this Walt Disney World holiday tradition is an honor. LPA Chorus is scheduled to perform on Friday, December 15, 2023 @ 5:15 pm. Congratulations Mr. Rahming and the LPA Chorus!

LPA Theatre Does ‘Pippin’

LPA Theatre had Magic To Do this past weekend as they presented Pippin! This cast took audiences on a journey of discovery, battles, beauty, and love as we watched Pippin take on the world. These students created a beautiful world onstage that drew audiences in again and again. With a student-led tech team and dazzling choreography, this show was a sight to see.
