Southport Middle School Project Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day, Mrs. Sharon Dudash’s class spent the week on a number of environmental projects re-purposing trash into beautiful artwork and gifts. The students made various size holders for school supplies out of cans. Their display also included candle holders and pencil holders from glass and plastic. Everyone enjoyed the colorfully decorated rain sticks made from used cardboard tubes, nails and rice.  Students learned important lessons on why we should all reduce, reuse and recycle.  A special thanks goes out to Paraprofessionals Ms. Rubi Soto and Mrs. Nicole Bailey for helping to make it all possible.
