Northport Middle School Essay Contest Winner Flies to Washington

The American Security Council Foundation flew essay contest winners Jayden Diago from Northport K-8 School in Port Saint Lucie, FL and Alex McGuigan from Storm Grove Middle School in Vero Beach, FL on an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C in December. All enjoyed and learned about national monuments and our nation’s capital. Visitors enjoyed the Capitol Building, visited the White House, the National Archives, and the Museum of Natural History. Running Full Steam Ahead at Southport Middle School

Southport Middle School is Running Full STEAM Ahead! Southport Middle School presented an amazing night of events on December 19th across the school campus for our students and families. PSLPD Reads to SLWK-8 1st Graders

PSLPD came to read holiday stories to first graders for their holiday tea on December 20th. Students enjoyed cookies, juice and a question/answer session with some police officers.

SLWCHS HOSA-Making Christmas Bright 2017

During the months of November and December, HOSA invited the faculty, staff, and students of SLWCHS to participate in a toy drive for the children on the caseload of Devereux Community Based Care of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast.  These children are in protective custody due to unfortunate circumstances in their own homes.  They are often placed with foster families or relatives during this difficult time.   Eagle faculty, staff and students banded together and collected more than 175 gifts for these special children.  Members of our HOSA chapter and Allied Health classes helped load Devereux’s ‘sleigh’ last week.  Merry … Read More

SLWCHS Students Attend MarineLab

Four students from St. Lucie West Centennial High School were invited to join students from Broward County Public Schools to participate in an instructional camp at MarineLab in Key Largo, FL in November. The students, who are identified as deaf or hard of hearing, had the opportunity to engage in marine science activities and perform experiments with the help of educational interpreters. White City Elementary families participated in Student Led Conference Night.  Students shared their learning goals, assessment data, and their action plan with their parents.  Parents received specific information regarding their students’ academic performance.

TCHS Senior Gains Early Admission to University of Chicago

Congratulations to Treasure Coast High School Senior Gustavo Delgado on his early admission to the University of Chicago.  In addition to gaining early admission to the prestigious university, he was also awarded a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, room and board and other expenses.  University of Chicago is ranked number three in National Universities by US News and World Report in 2018. TCHS Graduate Receives Top in Country Award

Treasure Coast High School graduate, Bailer Magers ’17, received notification this week from Cambridge that he achieved the ‘Top in Country’ award for the Economics AS Exam. ‘Top in Country’ refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in the United States for the AICE Economics AS level exams in June 2017. Congratulations to Bailey!  Bailey is currently studying engineering and is a member of the Honors Program at the University of Florida.

STAR Recognitions

St. Lucie Public Schools honored two individuals from the Transportation team at the December School Board Meeting. Venetia Brice and Giovanni Calzolano were nominated for STAR Award recognition based on their commitment to keeping children safe and going above and beyond to provide stellar service. Winter Break Dates

This is a friendly reminder that Friday, December 22nd is an early release day for students. Winter Break begins on Monday, December 25th. 12 Month employees return on January 2nd; all other faculty and staff return on Friday, January 5th. Students return on Monday, January 8th.
