The Giving Concert in its 7th Season

The 7th annual Giving Concert to benefit Grace Packs is this Thurs. at Lincoln Park Academy’s Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the concert, boasting area choral groups, will begin at 7:00 p.m. Admission to the concert is a non-perishable food item. #StLucieStrong

Marching Band Showcase Draws Music Enthusiasts

Bands from across the District took to the field at Lawnwood Stadium on Saturday, October 20th for the 2nd Annual Marching Band Showcase. Audience members were entertained as students performed a wide array of tunes as individual school bands and as a collective group of musicians for the grand finale under the direction of special guest conductor, St. Lucie Public Schools Superintendent E. Wayne Gent.

Law Day

Law Day is recognized on May 1 each year, and this year’s Law Day contest theme is Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society.  The Friends of the Rupert J. Smith Law Library provide opportunities for teachers and students to connect with this theme and express their thoughts on the topic in many forms through the annual Law Day Contest. Citizen Hero Award

Fifth grader Brandon Roth from Mariposa Elementary School received the St. Lucie County Fire Department Citizen Hero Award for his courageous actions during a life-threatening situation on June 25th, 2018. On this day, ten-year-old Roth was riding his skateboard when he discovered a neighbor in distress lying in her doorway. He ran to her aid and flagged down a passing car to call 911. He continued to wait with her until the rescue trucks and firefighters arrived. His quick thinking and immediate action averted a potentially tragic outcome.

Community Support

A Community Team comprised of local leaders (Mayor Hudson, Nick Mimms, Will Armstead, Judi Miller, Deb LaBella and Joe Smith) and St. Lucie Public Schools district personnel joined with St. Lucie Elementary School’s leaders to brainstorm support strategies for students. The value of partnerships is immeasurable. Thank you to all of our valuable partners.  

Stop the Bleed Training

Stop The Bleed is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly to save lives.  According the the Department of Homeland Security, it can take less than five minutes for someone to bleed out after an accident.  EMS and other forms of emergency rescue often take longer to arrive on the scene.  It is vital that everyone has the knowledge and the tools to stop bleeding before it is too late.  The Stop the Bleed Campaign is critical to saving lives in America. 30th Anniversary at PSLHS

On Friday October 12, 2018, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguars had their homecoming game against the Pompano Beach High School Golden Tornados. It was the 30th Anniversary of our school, and alumni came back to support and watch the game. Our homecoming game is the most popular football game of the season, so we had more cadets work this event.  Cadet Captain Hunter Payne oversaw visitor parking. On Saturday, October 13, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s Raider Team attended the Jupiter High School Raider meet. Our male and female teams competed in each of five different obstacles: Sand Bag Carry, Rope Bridge, Cross Country Rescue, Team Run, and Tire Flip.
