Career and College Fair Color Guard

On September 11, 2019, the Port Saint Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted a color guard for the Career and College Fair held in the gym. The color guard was commanded by Cadet Major Alexis Morris while the state flag was held by Cadet Sargent First Class Alexis Wilson. Guarding the national flag was Cadet Sargent First Class Emmalyne Lewiston and guarding the state flag was Cadet Second Lieutenant Michael Schmitt. St. Lucie West K-8 School Bus Drivers’ Breakfast

St. Lucie West K-8 School enjoyed a fun-filled breakfast with our bus drivers on Thursday, September 19th, Dean Estrada and several PBIS Core team members and teachers helped to organize the event. We are thankful for our bus drivers and their commitment to our students.

The Community Supports Our Schools!

The Great Stewards of St. Bernadette Parish overwhelmed the teachers and staff of Dale Cassens Education Complex after the church’s school supply drive collected over a year’s supply of consumables! Their ministry bestowed upon the students with all the composition books, pencils, colored markers/pencils, glue sticks, etc. that will be needed for all our lessons!  What a great way to start off our year!

Treasure Coast High School – Bowling for Bahamas

The Treasure Coast High School National Honor Society partnered with SuperPlay USA to host a fundraiser for Bahamas relief efforts.  A total of 112 Titans showed up to support this event, and funds raised went to Missionary Flights International to help with the cost of shipping the goods they collected.  #TitanBornTitanBred

Treasure Coast High School AFJROTC Hosts Inaugural Patriot’s Day Event

On September 11th, 2019, Treasure Coast High School’s AFJROTC shared their pride with Patriot’s Day Ceremony at the high school.  The ceremony honored our nation’s flag with a flag folding  and flag retirement ceremony.  Additionally, Blue Star Moms and Gold Star Moms were in attendance and honored as well. TCHS students, faculty, and staff attended the event as well as many guests from the local community.

Treasure Coast High School – Bahamas Donation Drive

Clubs across Treasure Coast’s campus united in friendly competition to collect donated goods for those effected by Hurricane Dorian.  Together they were able to pack a pallet to be donated to Missionary Flights International.  #TitanBornTitanBred

Career and Technical Education – EDC Bus Tour

Career and Technical Education (CTE) collaborated with the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County (EDC), and Treasure Coast Manufacturers Association to host the Fall School Guidance Counselor’s Bus Tour.  This tour offered St. Lucie Public School’s Guidance Counselors, Graduation Coaches, and CTE Educators the opportunity to hear from local businesses and create a pipeline for their students interested in manufacturing, technical design, and culinary.  Stops on the tour included Builders FirstSource, Indian River Select, Sunshine Kitchen, Aviator College, and Aquaco to get a better sense of expectations and demand for potential employees in the industry.    

CAST Kindergartners Share American Symbols

Kindergarten shared their artistic representation of the American Flag with Mr. Whitaker’s 7th grade Civics class. Kindergarten has been learning all about different American symbols and were thrilled to share their knowledge with 7th grade. The 7th graders were prepared with different questions to enhance the learning of their kindergarten buddy!

Custodial Staff Appreciation Luncheon

SLPS Custodial Staff were treated to a BBQ luncheon at Manatee K8 School to thank them for their dedication and commitment to providing safe and clean environments for all employees and students across the district.  The luncheon has become an annual event and was sponsored by Donadio and Associates.

On Monday, September 17th, the Business Services team moved to its forever location within the new District office. You can find all their teams on the third floor, section 500.  The Business Services Team is  ready to serve their customers, host trainings and meet with employees.  The Business Services team includes Payroll, Risk Management, Finance, Purchasing and Accounts Payable. Lightin’ It Up For Andrew 2019

The Andrew Schmeer Foundation honors the memory of Andrew Schmeer who, on September 8, 2014, was tragically killed in a car accident.  Funds raised will help to recognize well-rounded students, along the Treasure Coast, each year by providing college scholarships for those in need and with donations to animal rescues as well as children’s charities. Proceeds from this event will benefit the student scholarship program and local families in need.

CTE visits Embry-Riddle for Gaetz Aerospace Leadership Conference

The Career and Technical Education department traveled to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to attend the Gaetz Aerospace Institute’s District and School Leadership Conference.  Our very own Professor of Aerospace Technologies at Fort Pierce Central High School, Dr. Bispham, was one of the panelists for the conference.  Dr. Bispham was discussed the growing demand for the sUAS certification, and took students to the next level by working on drone security projects!
