The Jaguar Battalion’s 29th Annual Military Ball

On Saturday, January 27th, 2024, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted its 29th Annual Military Ball at the Santa Lucia River Club. Male Cadets wore their Class A Uniform, and female cadets came in formal gowns. Our Jaguar Battalion Color Guard posted the colors to begin the formal portion of the ceremony. FGMS: Mr. Parkinson’s Geometry Class Learns “Math Real” World Style

Several weeks ago Forest Grove Middle School geometry students went on an amazing field trip. Below is Mr. Parkinson’s summary of this project and field trip. SLWK8 Students Explore High School Allied Health Programs

Middle school students explored the Allied Health Certificate offered at many high schools. Students learned about different certificates and related careers and practiced related skills such as how to answer an office phone professionally, file reports, schedule appointments, take blood pressure, clean teeth as a dental hygienist, fill prescriptions like a pharmacy technician, and complete an evaluation as a physical therapist.  

Systems Thinking Through STEAM at SLWK8

Sixth-grade students in Ms. Boham’s STEAM class were learning about Assembly lines and Systems thinking. Students used the Engineering Design Process to design an Assembly line that they then ran twice and timed to see if they could make improvements to the design and improve their time/production.

SLPS Breaks Ground on New Fort Pierce Westwood Academy High School

On Friday, January 19, St. Lucie Public Schools Superintendent, School Board Members, and special guests broke ground on the site of the new Fort Pierce Westwood Academy High School.   Superintendent Dr. Jon R. 100th Day at Village Green

Kindergartens at Village Green Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school this week! We had the cutest little 100-year-old students engaging in fun activities throughout the day. They practiced counting to 100 with fun and interactive math games. They also wrote about what they would do if they were 100 years old. They read 100 sight words and did 100 exercises throughout the day. They’re 100 days smarter and we are so proud of their growth!

Fairlawn Vocabulary Parade

Fairlawn’s celebration of literacy week wrapped up with a school-wide vocabulary parade.  Parents were treated to a parade of creativity as our students marched around the school displaying their new vocabulary words and costumes to match.

TCHS Hosts IRSC for Promise Program

SLPS Hosts HBCU/HSI College Fair

On January 25, 2024, SLPS held its annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) College Fair at the Fenn Center. This fair hosted representatives from the HBCU and HSI colleges who provided program, application, and scholarship information to prospective students which included SLPS current seniors and juniors. Dan McCarty Middle School also participated. This event was a wonderful opportunity for students and SLPS thanks all participating staff and universities for a great and informative event!

For the Love of Literacy ❤️

We’re having way too much fun at Morningside Elementary during literacy week! 📚We’ve had superheroes visit campus, had fun with special guest appearances at Literacy Night, and even BINGO on the 100th day of school! We ended the week with a vocabulary parade and guest readers. We love fostering a love for reading in our community.  

LPA Greyhounds Journey to Educational Opportunities

Students at Lincoln Park Academy had an exciting day as they traveled to the Fenn Center to engage in the start of ongoing communication with college recruiters.  They were able to ask pertinent questions relative to their chosen careers and receive valuable feedback that will aid in final decision making.  The students, along with their dedicated counselors, report an overall success as they shared valuable experiences resulting from their visit.  The recruiters were very motivated while sharing campus factors that their universities promote for overall student success and degree completion.  This was certainly a valuable field trip that will leave memorable memories … Read More

We had another amazing turn out representing PSLHS HOSA! We are so proud of all our competitors for even attempting the competition. 31 students attempted round 1, 19 of them went to Round 2 yesterday and 9 of those placed and are moving onto States in April! CAM Students Celebrate Literacy Week with Book Buddies

Mrs. Bueno and Ms. Vazquez joined together for book buddies. Second-graders in Mrs. Bueno’s class did a wonderful job reading and showing the Kindergarteners in Ms. Vazquez’s class how to read! When students come together to lift each other up we can continue to soar to new heights!

LPA Students Compete at the HOSA Winter Regional Conference

The Lincoln Park Academy HOSA competition team traveled to their first HOSA Competition on 01/25/2024 for the Treasure Coast Regional Winter Leadership Competition in West Palm Beach. Students Camille Anoos, Nachbi Pierre, and Payton Norkus all competed. Payton and Camille competed in Medical Terminology and Nachbi competed in Cultural Diversities and Disparities. The students had a wonderful experience being able to network and learn more about HOSA from different schools within the region.
